There is a revolution going on in the world of documentary and reality filmmaking -- the new HD DSLR camera format provides a stunning picture for a relatively modest price, providing dramatic control of depth of field under very low light conditions.
Veteran Director of Photography Philip Bloom will lead WESTDOC’S two-day Master Class in this cutting edge technology. Saturday’s opening session will provide a hands-on introduction to the hardware, software and tools involved with HD DSLR. By mid-afternoon, the class will break into small groups to shoot and begin editing short videos. On Sunday, post-production techniques will be discussed and the student projects will be edited in the afternoon and presented to the class by the end of the day. *If you provide your own HDSLR camera (Canon 5D Mark II, 7D, 1D Mark IV, or T2, or the Panasonic Lumix GH1) and Macbook Pro for editing, you will be allowed a $50 discount off the Master Class price.
