WESTDOC - The West Coast Documentary and Reality Conference is a three-day event that brings together preeminent producers, directors, writers, network executives, agents and distributors for insightful and unique seminars, as well as networking opportunities. WESTDOC features two areas of professional interest designated as The Documentary Village and The Reality Village. Attendees and speakers are able to take full advantage of both of these arenas and to select seminars from any village they choose. The third day of the conference is entirely devoted to PitchFest, a rousing live presentation for Documentary and Reality producers to pitch new concepts to network and development executives for potential acquisition in front of a live audience. Areas of Interest for Attendees
Keynote panels and seminars - Two days of information and dialog. Check back often for Speaker updates. PitchFest - Got an idea? Looking to pitch in front of potential network buyers and a live audience? This is your event! Inspired by The Documentary Forum, IDFA, and other live pitching events, Pitchfest is compelling entertainment where the audience decides the winner. Attendance to PitchFest is part of your WESTDOC admission. The Sit-Down - 30 minute Broadcaster overviews from the networks outlining their needs today and tomorrow. Find out exactly what they want and how to get your pitch to the right person. Face Time - One-on-one meetings with the network people you want to pitch. Reservations are limited on a first come first serve basis, so register early. Parties - End each day with our now famous cocktail mixers. Socialize with speakers and attendees and enjoy the nearby great restaurants and bars. Opening Night Screening - Each year WESTDOC screens a timely documentary, followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers. In 2010, WESTDOC screened the Sundance smash hit documentary CATFISH. |
Outside of our great panels, WESTDOC delivers information you need know. Thirty minute intimate overviews of individual networks outlining what they program today and more importantly what they’re looking for tomorrow.
